While I do design quite a few of my book covers, a large percentage of them are done by freelance designers I art direct. These are a few of the most recently published titles.
The Best Yes
Hand-lettered book cover for Lysa Terkeurst.
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
Party poster and badges for company sponsored honkey tonk in downtown, Nashville.
Matthew West Box Set
Matthew contacted me about wanting to create something special for his fans. We worked together to create a set of items that would come together in the form of a box set titled The Story Trilogy. Along with his last three albums, the set also included items representative of each album, and other surprises. I designed everything and then worked with printers to get everything created.
Wizard of Oz
Books A Million requested a custom version of Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I had a lot of fun with this one. Lots of options were created. The final book design even features real red (ruby) glitter.
Ink & Well
Logo for new content development and marketing company. Sometimes there are lots of sketches involved.
We designed a custom album for our wedding guests. My husband is a song writer/producer, so he did all the inside work, and I handled the outside packaging. One of my favorite things to create are rubber stamps, so I had those made to print the front and back of the packaging.
Lettering + Drawings
I still love picking up a brush every once in a while. I bring a brush pen with me pretty much anywhere I go these days. Sometimes (most of the time) i draw words, but sometimes I capture places.
Every now and then we get a custom order for one of our existing titles. This customer wanted an elegant feminine version of our best-selling Jesus Calling® devotional. I designed a modern yet simple and elegant cloth bound book with 2-color screen printing.
This was first done in the standard size. The customer later came back and wanted another in the Large Print trim.
NOLA Coffee House
Logo for new coffee house in New Orleans, LA
I was asked to design/create an author proposal and turn it around in two days. I centered my design around the theme of playing with fire, because that was the proposed book title. The booklet slides into a smoke black o-wrap casing, and the front title shows through a hand-burned hold in the front of the slipcase.
We ended up acquiring the author.
I can't take credit for this logo design. It's from a long time ago. A friend of mine from work's dad designed it. He has since passed away so my friend and his son are restoring his old boat. I helped them restore the logo for future use.
My brother currently works as a missionary in New Orleans, LA for an organization called Crossroads Missions. He wanted me to design a shirt specific to his location since there are bases all over the country. We ended up printing the blue and grey.
Bibles are a big part of what I do everyday. Here are some of the recent styles/titles I've completed.
When I have some free time I want to design some more stationery for Minted. This is a design that was selected a few years ago to become avalable for purchase. It's been fun to see people buy it to use.
